TAGLIATELLI HAT with Cyndi Marshall, Saturday, January 3, 12-3pm, $35.00. Leave it to Cyndi to take an idea and work her magic. Learn to knit this fabulous hat, with or without ears flaps in sizes from infant to adult. The base yarn is Colinette Tagliatelli (a merino wool tape) and the pizzazz comes from the addition of small amounts of novelty fibers. Knit on size 8 circulars and double points, this hat will keep you warm and stylish throughout the winter.

Learn to Knit and/or Crochet with Faith Wyse, Saturday, January 10, 2009, 1-4pm, $35.00. Here's a great opportunity to learn to knit AND crochet in the same class. If you want to learn just one or the other, that's fine, too. Learned once, but don't quite remember how to do it? Here is your chance to refresh your skills. Faith is skilled at both and will have you hooking and/or clicking away in no time. Besides that, Faith is an expert in mixing colors and textures that gives everything she make a big "WOW" factor. She will show you how to do this with even the simplest of knitting/crochet stitches.

WET FELTED BEADS with Fran Steinbock, Sunday, January 11, 2009, 1-4pm, $50.00 (includes a $15.00 materials fee). Wet felting is the process of making felt or fabric using roving, hot soapy water and agitation. This class will explore the process of making beautiful round beads by the wet felting method. Many different looks can be achieved by using different colors of roving and then needlefelting and/or beading the felted beads. Make a bracelet or necklace, as Fran will have jewelry findings with her.
CRAZY QUILT PATCHWORK MITTENS Cyndi Marshall, Saturday, January 17, 2009, 12-3pm, $35.00. Learn to design custom fit mittens that begin by tracing your hand to make a template. Then, the fun begins! Knit the mittens back and forth on 2 needles by knitting triangles, rectangles and squares as you mix assorted yarns with novelty fibers. Or, adjust the template to make fingerless mittens. Cyndi will lead you through the process. These knit up fast and you'll enjoy watching the pattern, texture and colors come together. Bring a pair of US 10 needles and an assortment of yarns.

Lynne, from California, stopped in and we loved her T-shirt so
much, we thought we would share it with all of you.

Please don't ask, we don't know where she got it.

Thank you! Thank you! We at Fine Points are filled with gratitude.
Our customers have supported us during this Holiday Season. At the end
of 2008 we find ourselves feeling lucky and supported. You have come in
throughout the year and made purchases.

We know the trend is to shop online. We know that sometimes one can
save a few dollars by shopping online. We know that a person can sit at
her computer and make purchases in her p.j's. It's easy. You don't have
to get in your car and drive to a colorful neighborhood, using gas and
getting your feet wet. And yet, you do.

And we so appreciate it. I know that I speak for many small business
owners who feel the same way. Recently a letter was brought to my attention,
written by Steve Presser, owner of Big Fun on Coventry. (see the letter here). He speaks
for all local vendors who are in the same boat.

Speaking for the staff at Fine Points, I'd like to express our heartfelt
thanks to all of you. We're looking forward to a healthy and prosperous 2009,
and wish you the same. Liz
